#davesdailychallenge (6): The Person vs. The Message. Last night President Obama gave his final State of the Union address to the American people. I’m sure your social media feeds look a lot like mine with friends either strongly opposed to everything the President says or singing his praises every chance they get. In this country our elected leaders, namely the President, have become polarized, highly crafted brands in and of themselves. We are all guilty of being marketed to and allowing those messages, many of which are misleading or downright false, to shape our views. Challenge yourself to hear the message divorced from your opinion of the person. It is hard, maybe even impossible, but necessary if we are to cease this cycle of political caricatures of leadership. What are your thoughts on this?
