#davesdailychallenge (11): Character. Ok, 100% honesty here…today is a day that makes me sad not hopeful. I’m not a scholar on MLK Jr. nor am I informed as to every complicated element of associated past movements. I do, however, see contemporary society with a clear lens. Many who claim to espouse his ideals, benefit continuously off of dividing others along lines of racial background and it makes me sick. I’m fortunate enough to know many others who prescribe to that simple but powerful notion that a person should be judged on the content of their character. Those wonderful people, comprised of nearly every background, must be held close in our lives. Challenge yourself and those you care about to not have your opinions decided for you by those seeking to divide or trying to benefit off of your ignorance. We, as a nation, are as unified as we choose to be. Thoughts?
