The Danger of Inspiration – Daily Growth

#davesdailychallenge (23): The Danger of Inspiration. Inspiring others has become an industry. Go onto YouTube and search for “motivational videos” and call me in a few years when you’re done sifting through them. I’ve watched them. Some of them are great. Hell I even have a personal playlist of motivating movie scenes, ads, and quick clips that I listen to sometimes when I workout. They help. The danger comes in when we begin to rely on this inspiration point to achieve anything of note. The uncomfortable truth, which every truly high performer knows, is that much of the time you spend pursuing a goal, be it a dollar figure, a wealthy client, a love interest, or a first place trophy is spent without a great deal of motivation. It’s called “the grind”. Train yourself to be able to grind. The very definition of the grind means you’re still able to excel without all of the external inspiration. You create it yourself. You don’t just survive in the darkness you thrive. You own the night.
