#davesdailychallenge (41): The Power of Habit. Little acts repeated consistently can have dramatically positive results in your life. I will use an example that has really worked for me and this is something I never thought I would be excited about. I work out in the mornings. That one little decision, which originally came about as a result of necessity after my son was born, has had tremendously positive results in my life. When I know that I will be waking up early, approximately 5am, every morning in order to work out a number of other things begin to happen. One, the time I go to bed consistently begins to automatically fix itself. Going to sleep at midnight and waking up at 5am for any length of time is a recipe for disaster, at least for me. Second, my nutrition has improved. If I’m up that early and focusing on health by simply performing my routine then my mind is already in the right place to make smart food decisions. Third, if I have performed an intense workout, my own personal form of meditation, before the time that most people even get out of bed then I have set myself up for mental clarity. My approach to the day is completely different than if I sleep in. Fourth, my creative mind is firing almost non stop all day and that pays huge dividends in my work. All of this comes from one simple habit. Wake up and workout. This small act has tremendous power. What are some of your habits that have had big impacts in your life?
