Recognition and positive reinforcement is a vital step towards any healthy organizational culture but what is most important, especially as a leader, is to recognize people in a manner that is meaningful to them not that is meaningful to you. Don’t single out an introvert in front of 1000 people. Throw a parade for that extrovert that needs it. Know your people well enough to know what matters to them and make it personal. It will mean so much more than something generic.
