The Value of Long Term Thinking – Daily Growth

#davesdailychallenge (62): The Value of Long Term Thinking. Arab culture looks at life in the span of decades and centuries. Modern culture, especially in the west, is one of immediacy. We look at life in the span of seconds, minutes, and days. Information, access, and entertainment are available at the snap of our fingers. There are few things we can’t learn in under 5 minutes on our smartphones. While this has many advantages, this ability has created a culture that does not tolerate long term thinking well. Some questions require answers that take time. Some problems have solutions that are extraordinarily complex and require patience. If you haven’t discovered this fact yet, you will, especially as you progress in your life and your career. If you are a part of an organization attempting to accomplish anything worthwhile, change something difficult, or create something beautiful remember that it is worthwhile to approach this pursuit with a long term mindset. If you don’t see immediate results it’s ok. Good things take time and you have to be willing to be patient and put in the work to be successful in both the immediate and long term.
