The Virtuous Cycle of Attention and Trust – Daily Growth

#davesdailychallenge (63): The Virtuous Cycle of Attention and Trust. Thank you to Mr. Seth Godin. A characteristic shared by the most trusted brands in the world, regardless of whether those brands are an experience, a physical product, or a person, is that they demand your attention through the trust they’ve cultivated and earned from you. Attention leads to trust and trust leads to attention. In order to earn the trust we seek from our desired audience we must not seek to seduce. Instead we should seek authenticity and be worthy of that trust. We must step up before we have to and be generous and loyal when it matters most not only when it is convenient to us. These efforts will earn the attention and trust of our audience, be they consumers, our co-workers, our bosses, our customers, or our loved ones. Once we’ve earned that trust and attention we have the opportunity to step up even further and raise our service games. When successful, that leads to further levels of trust and attention…and the cycle continues. If you need an example just imagine a brand you follow and consume regularly. It could be a line of clothing, a consumer technology company, a celebrity, or an entertainment conglomerate. These brands have your attention. These brands have your trust. I know they do because you wouldn’t follow them if they didn’t. The virtuous cycle is in effect throughout our daily lives. Now you have the tools to see it for yourselves. Now you can use this tactic in your own life. Good luck!
