#davesdailychallenge (66): Culture Series Part 4. Let me tell you about what explosives taught me about organizational culture. Any explosive force will take the path of least resistance…you know, because of science. People are kind of the same. In general, and especially when left to their own devices, most people will take the path of least resistance. Any organization will benefit greatly in developing a team culture where two things occur. First, encourage and incentivize team members to focus on what is right instead of what is easy. Second, make them the same thing as often as possible. As much as the ideal of perfection twinkles in our eyes the simple truth is that the path of least resistance is a tempting minx. Many people will fall back to that path. The easier it is to do the right thing the better off your organization will be and that is the responsibility of every team member, but especially leadership, to create and sustain that kind of culture.
