#davesdailychallenge (69): Tenets of Leadership Part 3. Simplicity is key. If you tell your plan to your team you should be able to ask your most inexperienced junior team member to brief it back to you in their own words and prove they understand it. Everyone must feel comfortable with the plan and simplicity and clarity go a long way in achieving that. This also allows room for the individuality, personality, and creativity of your team members to shine through. This lesson applies to many topics, among them are certainly our study of leadership and cultural development, but to take this notion a step further we can review yesterday’s challenge discussing the myth of perfection. There is no such thing as perfection and what is important in any high performing team is to have a culture that can adapt to change easily as well as leaders who are capable of encouraging their teams to actually do so. If your plan is simple it is much easier to adapt when, inevitably, something changes and you have to pivot. Good luck my friends!
