The Success Bias – Daily Growth

#davesdailychallenge (70): The Success Bias. Do you subscribe to a magazine? Perhaps GQ, Fortune, Inc., or Muscle & Fitness? On the cover of these publications exist some of the most, albeit subjective, successful people in our world. Everyone from Tony Robbins to Justin Timberlake to Sheryl Sandberg to Katy Perry. For every cover story there are millions of other personalities that will never have their stories told. Some might be successful. Others, many others, are not. You will never hear me say to not go after the things you love and are most passionate about, whether personally, professionally, or both but I will always fight against ignorance. Too many people are lured in to the success bias of popular culture and begin to think that their idea of success is at their fingertips and it can be theirs if they’d only buy this product, hire this person, or change this “one thing”. This has created a tremendous lack of understanding of the insanely hard work that goes in to accomplishing your dreams. It is attainable but don’t fool yourself for one second. You’re going to have to work your ass off to get it. You’re going to have to work late, get up early, and grind and grind and grind. You better believe the aforementioned names do. They have worked for decades to reach their levels. Don’t be afraid of the hard work to come. Get excited by it because so few people are willing to go the distance. If you are you’re already ahead of the game. Now go prove it. Good luck my friends!
