Tenets of Leadership Part 4 – Daily Growth

#davesdailychallenge (86): Tenets of Leadership Part 4. Without exception, every great leader I have ever personally worked with, or directly for, has shared a practice of questioning assumptions. Often times, in both our personal and professional lives, we cling to long held beliefs. We assume that our current point of view on a given subject is correct without taking the time to realize that if the assumptions that we are making, often subconsciously, aren’t accurate then perhaps our point of view would change along with those assumptions. Just think how many examples of this concept are everywhere in our lives. Examples like the social movement based on false assumptions, the long standing corporate issue that originates from incorrect preconceived notions, or the confident friend that hides inner turmoil. A great leader will have the courage to delve deeper and find out if the status quo is a thing of fact or fiction.
