When Opportunity Knocks…Open The Door

#davesdailychallenge (103): When Opportunity Knocks…Open The Door. Before you get your knickers in a twist, no I am not saying that following your passions is a bad thing. I do think, however, that the idea of following one’s passions has become so repetitive, and unfortunately trite, in our society that many have forgotten a very important fact. Sometimes you aren’t going to be able to pursue your passions. Sometimes you’re going to have to focus on the opportunity that is in front of you. That opportunity might be mowing lawns. It might be starting at the bottom and grinding your way to success and passion projects. You see, what isn’t discussed by the speakers and musicians preaching the pursuit of nothing but passion in your life is that even the most passionate project you undergo will involve a hell of a lot of work. You will need to chase opportunities and put your immediate wants on the back burner in order to focus on priorities. Here’s the good news…passion isn’t always a feeling. In many cases, passion is an endstate. It is the result of discipline, will, and grit. Passion is what comes from aggressively pursuing the opportunity of the moment. Now the question is whether or not you will open the door. Thank you to @timferriss and @mikerowe for inspiring today’s challenge. On a side note, check out Tim’s latest podcast with Mike. One of the best! Good luck my friends.
