#davesdailychallenge (136): Stand For Character. There aren’t that many truly universal truths in the world. Everything is up to a given person’s point of view. One person’s evil is another person’s virtue. Just look at the recent political conventions. I have, however, been reminded lately of one of my universal truths that I have personally discovered to always be a north star in a seemingly insurmountable forest of distraction. I refer to always standing on the side of character. Character, and I would combine this closely with the idea of integrity, is doing the right thing regardless of whether or not anyone else is watching. If you maintain yourself on the path of character you will no doubt experience suffering, hardship, and difficulty but I promise you that you will look back on your decision and experience that silent peace that can only come with knowing that you didn’t give in. You will fail. Expect it. I know I have. That’s ok because the important part is what you do after you stumble. Good luck.
