#davesdailychallenge (138): Thank You General Paxton. General John Paxton USMC has retired from the Marine Corps after 42 years of service. Let that sink in for a minute…42 years of service in our nation’s Corps. He was the Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps for a record three Commandants and is an extraordinary leader. I won’t regale you with his accomplishments but one of the things that I have taken away from his career, his leadership, and his tangible actions is the sincere dedication to those who matter most. Enlisted Marines make up the vast majority of the Marine Corps, not Officers, and General Paxton always made it very clear that he cared about those that he was entrusted to lead more than anything. That is something that I have tried to make paramount in my career and with my personal brand. If the definition of love is caring about something more than yourself than he showed multiple generations of leaders the way to lead properly. General, you have been, are, and always will be the example for others to follow. Thank you for your service to this country, our Corps, and our brother and sister Marines. Semper Fi.
